17. IOWA (Des Moines)
An estimated 100,000 from the state of Iowa served during the Korean War era. In total, 528 from the state never returned home from Korea, including 133 POW/MIAs who still remain unaccounted for.
This memorial located in the city of Des Moines pays tribute to these heroes.
