5. ALASKA (Anchorage)
An estimated 2,500 from the state of Alaska served during the Korean War era. In total, 10 from the state never returned home from Korea, including one POW/MIA who still remains unaccounted for.
This memorial located in the city of Anchorage pays tribute to these heroes.
