An estimated 172,000 from the state of South Carolina served during the Korean War era. In total, 805 never returned home from Korea, including 189 POW/MIAs who still remain unaccounted for.
This memorial located in the city of Fayetteville pays tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
