7. NORWAY
The Kingdom of Norway participated in the Korean War from July 1951 to November 1954. Norway dispatched the Norwegian Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (NORMASH) in Korea. NORMASH was situated closest to the front lines, which meant its personnel treated the most severe battle wounds and were only 15km away from the battle zones. Three Norwegians died during their volunteer service.
In total, 623 Norwegian men and women treated more than 90,000 patients, of whom 14,755 were hospitalized. Nearly 10,000 medical operations were conducted.
The memorial in the city of Oslo is located right outside the military museum that exhibits artifacts from the Korean War.
