1. CANADA

Canada participated in the Korean War from May 1951 to April 1954. The 2nd Battalion of the Canadian forces played a major role in keeping the Chinese at bay in the Battle of Kapyong. Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent sent an infantry brigade, 3 destroyers, and a transport aircraft battalion.

In total, Canada deployed 26,791 soldiers and suffered 1,557 casualties. According to the statistics provided by the South Korean government, there were 312 killed in action, 1,212 wounded in action, 1 missing in action, and 32 prisoners of wars.

The Korean War Memorial in Canada is located in Brampton at Meadowvale Cemetery. The Wall of Remembrance has engraved names of all those who were killed along a curved 200-foot-long granite wall.
