An estimated 298,000 from the state of Illinois served during the Korean War era. In total, 1,789 from the state never returned home from Korea, including 396 POW/MIAs who still remain unaccounted for.
This memorial pays tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. They will not be forgotten.
