42. MAINE (Bangor)
An estimated 42,000 from the state of Maine served during the Korean War era. In total, 242 from the state never returned home from Korea, including 44 POW/MIAs who still remain unaccounted for.
This memorial located in the city of Bangor pays tribute to these heroes.
