19.1 SOUTH DAKOTA (Mitchell)
An estimated 27,000 from the state of South Dakota served during the Korean War era. In total,160 from the state never returned home from Korea, including 35 POW/MIAs who still remain unaccounted for.
This memorial located in the city of Mitchell pays tribute to these heroes.
